Our story
Growing businesses, not just plants
SmartGrow is Project39's answer to a gap in the Tbilisi market: living green walls and hydroponic food production that work reliably - because a professional service team stands behind every installation.
How it started
The Project39 origin story
Sophia and Andro founded Project39 in 2019, just before the pandemic. Their first venture was a creative entertainment space where they hosted workshops, team-building events, birthday celebrations, and other community activities. When the pandemic changed the way people gathered, they adapted their business and turned their passion toward authentic Neapolitan pizza. They created a mobile pizza concept that quickly became popular and is still well known across Georgia, serving fresh pizza at festivals, corporate events, private celebrations, and public gatherings. Today, SmartGrow is the newest project under the Project39 brand. As technology continues to reshape our world, Sophia and Andro believe that the ability to grow fresh food locally is becoming increasingly important, especially in cities, where food production is often limited and disconnected from everyday life. This vision inspired them to explore innovative indoor growing technologies that make fresh herbs and leafy greens accessible all year round. After researching different business models, they chose to begin by helping businesses integrate sustainable growing solutions into their spaces, creating greener, healthier, and more inspiring environments for employees and customers alike. Whether it's an office, restaurant, hotel, wellness center, or educational space, SmartGrow combines modern technology with the timeless art of growing. "We're open to all kinds of growing projects, combining modern technology with the timeless art of nature." — Sophia & Andro
Why B2B only
We chose businesses, not consumers
Many businesses, offices, wellness centers, hotels, restaurants, schools, and other public spaces want to bring more greenery into their environments. Whether decorative or edible, living plants create healthier, more inspiring places for people to work, relax, and connect. The challenge is that keeping plants healthy isn't always easy. They need the right amount of light, regular watering, and ongoing care. Growing fresh edible herbs and leafy greens indoors is even more difficult without the right equipment and expertise. That's why we decided to start with the B2B market. We provide tailored indoor growing solutions designed to fit each client's space and needs. We help choose the most suitable plants, install the right growing system, and, most importantly, take care of the ongoing maintenance. Our clients enjoy fresh, thriving greenery without the hassle - reliably, effortlessly, and all year round. Our goal is simple: to make growing plants easy, so businesses can enjoy the beauty, freshness, and satisfaction that living greenery brings.
The team
Meet the founders
Sophia
Co-founder
Sophia has more than 20 years of experience in business management and administration. Throughout her career, she has founded startups, built and managed teams, and successfully turned ideas into sustainable businesses. She is passionate about creating value from scratch and bringing innovative concepts to life. Since 2022, Sophia has also been working on plant growing and commercialization projects. Through hands-on experience, she has gained a deep understanding of plant cultivation, working with both annual and perennial species. Her greatest passion, however, lies in growing herbs and leafy edible greens. As climate change, urbanization, and evolving lifestyles reshape the way we live, Sophia believes that technology should help people reconnect with nature rather than replace it. She sees hydroponic growing systems as an intelligent and sustainable solution that makes fresh food production possible almost anywhere, while using fewer natural resources. This vision is what inspired her to co-found SmartGrow and help businesses and communities bring fresh, living greenery into their everyday spaces.

He ensures that every system operates reliably and efficiently, giving customers a worry-free growing experience. Andro genuinely enjoys building, fixing, and creating with his own hands. This passion is reflected in everything he does. It's also why, at Project39 Pizza, he remains the head pizzaiolo. He believes that the best results come from craftsmanship, patience, and doing every job with care. Whether he's assembling a hydroponic system or baking authentic Neapolitan pizza, Andro brings the same dedication to quality and the same belief that every detail matters.
